Dip Into Reading Campaign

Dip Into Reading WEB Banner

Awen Cultural Trust has partnered with national charity The Reading Agency to promote the link between regular reading and improved health outcomes this winter.

Supported by Welsh Government, libraries across Bridgend will be involved in the public information campaign ‘Dip into Reading’ which aims to promote small amounts of reading each week to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Research shows that adults who read for just 30 minutes each week are more likely to report greater life satisfaction, self-esteem and are better able to cope with difficult situations, with library users reporting better overall health than non-users.

If you haven’t visited one of our libraries for a while, don’t forget we are fine-free so we don’t charge for overdue books. Our large print titles are ideal for people whose eyesight makes reading standard books more challenging and our talking books are great for anyone on the go.

If you prefer to access resources digitally, our eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines are available to download from our website: Awen Libraries (awen-libraries.com)
