Staff’s Pick of the Month

Choosing your next read can be tough, so we’re asking Awen Libraries staff to recommend a book every month to help you pick yours. This month, we asked Cal and Caroline what books have inspired them the most.

Cal said: “My favourite book of all time is American Gods, by Neil Gaiman (probably, it’s hard to choose!). As someone enjoying myths and mythologies, this book both taught me things I did not know and allowed me to revisit stories I love in new and different ways. It mixes mythologies from ancient Greece, ancient Egypt, Norse myths and more!”

Another staff member said: “My favourite book of all time is Only for a Fortnight -My life in a locked ward by Sue Read. It is very compelling and deeply disturbing”.
