Do you love writing? Then this competition is the one for you! Celebrate Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival and write a poem (up to 500 words) inspired by your love of reading, writing, books or stories.
The competition starts on Saturday, 20th May 2023 and closes on Saturday, 17th June 2023. Please submit your entry to your local Awen Library. The winner will receive £25 in book tokens, a writing goody bag and an illustrated version of their poem from a professional artist!
The runner up prize winner will receive a copy of Chris Riddell’s ‘Poems to live your life by, and a writing goody bag. Winning entries will be displayed in Awen Libraries and on our website.
The details are below:
Opening date – Saturday, 20th May 2023.
Closing date – Saturday, 17th June 2023.
All entries to be handed in to your local libraries by the closing date.
Suggested age range – 12 – 16-year old’s.
500 words maximum.
Prizes – 1st Prize – £25 book vouchers, a writing goody bag and an illustrated version of your poem from a professional artist.
2nd Place Prize – A copy of ‘Poems to live your life by’ by Chris Riddell and a writing goody bag.
