Join us in libraries across the county for a workshop with craftivist Naz Syed to create decorated lanterns. The lanterns will be part of a unique immersive exhibition taking place in Maesteg Town Hall: “Voices of Freedom”.
Lanterns made in libraries all around the borough will be part of this Remembrance display in Maesteg Town Hall, which will be open to the public on 8, 9 and 11 November. This will be a very special event to commemorate 80 years since the end of the Second World War, and an opportunity to reflect and remember together.
To book your free place for the lantern workshop, please book your place with the team at the Library (01656754845 l porthcawl.library@awen-wales.com).
If you are able to help us on our reusable material mission and bring a glass jar with you for the workshop, that would be very welcome. You don’t have to bring any other materials, and no skills are required, just a willingness to join in and discuss what Freedom means to you.
This Project is being delivered in partnership with Future Arts Centres, Libraries Connected and Open Eye Gallery, supported using public funding by UK Government through Arts Council England
