Originally from Blaenavon, Mark’s career began as an aerospace design engineer and technical author, before moving into international sales and marketing. He started writing novels in 2019 (pre-COVID), he has published two thrillers and more recently his work in progress novel ‘Butterflies Can’t Kill You’ was long-listed for the Cheshire Novel Prize out of 1,950 entries. In between writing novels he has won several short story awards, most notably first prize at the Henshaw International in 2020. As a member of the Hay Writers Circle, Mark has performed at the Hay Summer Festival three times. The initial chapters of Butterflies Can’t Kill You received a distinction from Cardiff University for his recently completed MA in Creative Writing.
